Celebrate the Month of Saint Brother André!

Schedule of activities for August 2019

At Saint Joseph’s Oratory, the month of August is dedicated to Saint Brother André, Patron Saint of Family Caregivers in Canada, born on August 9, 1845. You are invited to participate in pastoral and cultural events on offer throughout the month.

All activities are conducted in French unless mentionned otherwise.

Concerts Soleil et musique au coucher de soleil à l'Oratoire Saint-Joseph

Sunshine and Music : Free concerts of 30 to 45 minutes presenting musical groupswith Montreal’s most beautiful sunsets as a backdrop !

Sunshine and Music takes place from August 7 to September 11, 2019.

Sunday August 4

Activities at the exhibit on the life of Saint Brother André from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday August 7

Mass and Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick at 2 p.m.

Friday August 9 : Anniversary of the Birth of Saint Brother André

  • Free admission to the Oratory Museum all day
  • Activities at the exhibit on the life of Brother André from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Cake for all on the Mezzanine Terrace, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Special recital on the Mezzanine Terrace at 3 p.m.
  • Mass at 7:30 p.m. followed by a candlelight processionnal to the Original Chapel

Sunday August 11 : Celebration of Family Caregivers

A special invitation to all family caregivers to celebrate Saint Brother André, Patron Saint of Family Caregivers in Canada, at 11 a.m. in the Basilica (French) and 11:15 a.m. in the Crypt Church (English)

Testimonies by family caregivers of the Regroupement des aidants naturels du comté de L’Assomption (RANCA), during every Mass from 9:30 a.m. onward.

Sunday August 25

Pilgrimage to Mont-Saint-Grégoire, birthplace of Saint Brother André.
