The Large Mural

The large mural alongside the escalator to the basilica was painted by Canon Pruvost in 1954 for the shrine’s Golden Jubilee. It depicts Saint Joseph as the Model of Workers, Mainstay of Families and Protector of the Universal Church. The coat of arms of the ten Canadian provinces remind us that Saint Joseph is also the patron of Canada.
