A message from the Saint Joseph's Oratory Foundation spokesperson

My friends,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Saint Joseph’s Oratory Foundation. The Oratory is over 100 years old now and requires extensive restoration and development work in order to meet the needs and expectations of the two millions visitors who come to share their joys and sufferings with Saint Joseph every year.

Saint Joseph holds a special place in my life. Like many mothers, I cannot count the number of times I have asked him for guidance regarding the health and well-being of my children, or of the people in my community. I share the faith of the pilgrims who visit this Sanctuary knowing that their prayers will be heard. I thank Saint Joseph’s Oratory for the unique opportunity it offers us to connect with the Sacred, and to be closer to God.

Today, I am asking you to take part in Saint Joseph’s Oratory’s Great Bee and to help ensure this prized heritage site is fully restored. I ask you to make this investment on behalf of future generations. We owe it to them!

Dear friends and pilgrims,

Like Brother André during the construction of the basilica, we are appealing to the public’s generosity and asking it to take part in our fundraising campaign. Saint Joseph’s Oratory needs your help to carry out its mission properly. Join with us in carrying out a restoration project that will permit us to continue to welcome the millions of pilgrims and visitors who come to the Oratory in search of spiritual renewal each year.

With your support, we will be able to accomplish three objectives: improved pilgrim and visitor services, better accessibility, and greater on-site security. I can assure you that this major restoratio project so vital to the shrine's future was elaborated only after a great deal of reflection and consultation with many experts, that this major restoration project so vital to the shrine's future was elaborated. It was a rigorous process, during which all parties concerned or interested by the project were consulted.

Let us proudly complete Blessed Brother André’s dream. Let us pay tribute to Saint Joseph, whom we invoke so frequently to protect our families and support us in our difficulties. Let us makes Saint Joseph’s Oratory a symbol of hope. Let us plant seeds of hope for our world!

Stimulating Donor Recognition Program

All contributors to the Oratory’s Great Bee will receive a certificate of participation.

All donors contributing more than $20 will receive a receipt for income tax purposes.

As a token of our thanks, a present or memento of your participation will be mailed to you along with your charitable receipt and your certificate of participation:

Donors of $50 will receive a souvenir gift;
Donors of $100 will receive a subscription to The Oratory magazine, and a copy of the book Brother André and Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal by Jean-Guy Dubuc;
Donors of $200 will receive an icon of Saint Joseph.

All donors contributing amount of $500 or more will be invited to be special Seeds of Hope concert, featuring Philippe Bélanger, resident organist at Saint Joseph’s Oratory, and Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, under the direction of Gilbert Patenaude a unique opportunity to participate in an extraordinary spiritual and musical experience offered as a sign of our gratitude!
