The Dream of Saint Joseph (detail)
Joseph Guardo, Canada, 1955

The permanent exhibit on the Holy Family was created expressly for the opening of the Museum in 1955 by the Montreal artist Joseph Guardo and has remained a favorite attraction for over half a century. The life-size sculptures populating the dioramas depict daily life in the time of Saint Joseph. The ensemble of 10 scenes might be used as a valuable adjunct for religious education.
