The Museum of Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal was opened in 1955 and is principally dedicated to Christian art. By means of permanent and temporary thematic exhibits, the pilgrim comes face to face with Brother André, and the Holy Family while discovering the religious and artistic heritage of Quebec and elsewhere, including through a large collection of nativity scenes from across the world.

The permanent exhibit on the Holy Family was created expressly for the opening of the Museum in 1955 by the Montreal artist Joseph Guardo and has remained a favorite attraction for over half a century. The life-size sculptures populating the dioramas depict daily life in the time of Saint Joseph. The ensemble of 10 scenes might be used as a valuable adjunct for religious education. |
