A mission, a commitment, a presence

WELCOME   LISTEN   INSPIRE

Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal is a pilgrimage centre.

The Oratory’s principal mission is to welcome pilgrims and accompany them on their spiritual journey. It espouses evangelization that invites pilgrims to view their experiences in the light of the Gospel, and presents the Word of God in clear language adapted to the multiple realities of life. The news of Jesus Christ, through his message of love and compassion, draws visitors into an intimate encounter with Jesus Saviour. Saint Joseph and the blessed Brother André are special guides who help pilgrims welcome the Gospel message.

The doors of the international sanctuary of Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal are open to visitors from all walks of life. Pilgrims and visitors find respect for their diverse cultures and spiritual paths in the welcome they receive. The sanctuary is a centre for the Christian faith as expressed in the diverse forms of prayer of the Church with a special devotion to Saint Joseph. The Oratory offers a place of silence, prayer, and peace that fosters openness to the mystery of God.

The staff at Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal strives to follow Brother André’s example by being attentive to individuals, their sufferings and concerns.

Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal promotes dialogue and reconciliation through respect, love, justice and peace.
