Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal tells a story that is one hundred years old but still remains alive and inspiring today. It is the story of Brother André, a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross who wanted to offer his fellow citizens a place for prayer dedicated to Saint Joseph. He was more successful than he could ever have imagined!
Little by little the Oratory has become a home for everyone, pilgrim and tourist alike, who wants to turn trustingly to Saint Joseph. Brother André’s reputation quickly spread beyond the borders of Quebec and Canada.
If there is one reason why Saint-Joseph’s Oratory is here for us, standing imposingly on the Mount Royal, it is simply that we all need it to be there.
