Brother André

In their search for the meaning of suffering the faithful are strengthened by God’s grace and find the hope with which to face their ordeals. Persons living with disabilities or with suffering of any kind, whether physical or emotional, are encouraged by Blessed Brother André to turn to Saint Joseph of Mount Royal, who comforts them. The Office for Pilgrimages for the Sick continues this mission of hospitality for the ill and suffering through retreat programs and spiritual activities. We can arrange for visits to private home, care facilities or hospitals. (The Oratory is recognized by Kéroul.) If you would like to join the Pilgrimage for the Sick or volunteer for special occasions please contact its coordinator Jean-Réhu Joseph.

Forging Ahead:

  • specially adapted guided tours
  • devotions for the sick every Wednesday at 2 p.m.
  • spiritual renewal programs
  • ramps and wheelchairs and elevator
  • shuttle bus equipped for transportation of mobility impaired persons on the Oratory grounds, as required

Here is what we offer you:

  • About ten activities each year espacially planned
    for our members and volunteers;
  • A connection with persons who can not get out easily
    but who still wish to remain in contact with the Oratory;
  • An opportunity to visit people in their residences at the
    request of someone in pastoral care or from recreational services;
  • An association of volunteers who are willing to place
    themselves at the service of persons who are suffering;
  • An environment that is continually adapting to the need
    for access to all of the Oratory.
